Preview: Porter vs. Nacogdoches
The Porter Spartans will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against the Nacogdoches Dragons at 7:30 p.m. on February 13th. Porter's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.
Friday just wasn't the day for Porter's offense. Their tough 3-0 loss to Lufkin last Friday might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Porter can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 386th, while Lufkin is ranked 133rd).
Meanwhile, Nacogdoches didn't have quite enough to beat Huntsville on Friday and fell 2-1.

Porter's loss dropped their record down to 3-3-3. As for Nacogdoches, their loss dropped their record down to 8-5-1.
Porter might still be hurting after the 4-0 defeat they got from Nacogdoches when the teams last played back in March of 2023. Can Porter avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
