Draughn is 8-2 against Freedom since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Wildcats will welcome the Patriots at 9:00 a.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Last Tuesday, Draughn came up short against West Lincoln and fell 4-1.

Draughn saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was MaKenzie Powell, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Freedom's offense. They came up short against Alexander Central on Thursday, falling 18-0.

Draughn has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-5 record this season. As for Freedom, they dropped their record down to 6-15 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home.

Freedom's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Draughn has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 13 hits per game. It's a different story for Freedom, though, as they've been averaging 10.4 hits. Given Draughn's sizable advantage in that area, the Patriots will need to find a way to close that gap.

Draughn took their win against Freedom when the teams last played back in March by a conclusive 12-4 score. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Patriots have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
