Volleyball Recap: Olathe West Falls Short Against Ranked Mill Valley + How To Watch

Olathe West faced Mill Valley in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Owls took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jaguars. That makes it the first time this season the Owls have let down their home crowd.

Olathe West was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Mill Valley work for it, especially in the fourth set. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-18, 25-27, 27-25.

Kaiya Finazzo and Grace Yeager certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Finazzo had 13 digs and one assist, while Yeager had 17 digs and two assists.

Mill Valley was led to victory by Ellie Bain and Haedyn Lynnes. Bain had 11 digs and four aces, while Lynnes had 13 digs. That's the most digs Lynnes has posted over her last six matches.

Olathe West's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 10-3. As for Mill Valley, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-3.

Olathe West wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Olathe South on the 20th. As for Mill Valley, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Manhattan on the 22nd.
