Shelby had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 win over the Norwalk Truckers on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Whippets have posted since April 26, 2024.

Alyssa Booker spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and four unearned) runs on 13 hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Shelby let Reece Friend and Elise Mullins run wild. Friend scored two runs while going 2-for-2, while Mullins got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and two runs.
