Football Recap: South Iredell Takes a Loss + How To Watch

After flying high against North Iredell last Friday, South Iredell came back down to earth. The Vikings fell 15-6 to the Davie County War Eagles on Friday. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the War Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2019.

Tristan Cowan threw for 142 yards and one touchdown. Thailan Bellamy was his top target, picking up 63 receiving yards and one score. On the ground, Landon Mcclain rushed for 102 yards.

The critical scores for Davie County came from Ethan Driver and Elijah Chaffin.

South Iredell dropped their record down to 3-7 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Davie County, their win bumped their record up to 6-4.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. South Iredell will square off against A.L. Brown at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wonders will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Vikings surely won't give up without a fight. As for Davie County, they will take on West Mecklenburg at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
