Soccer Recap: Gadsden City Comes Up Short

After flying high against Moody last Tuesday, Gadsden City came back down to earth. While the 0-0 score might suggest a draw, it was the Fort Payne Wildcats who were credited with the victory on Tuesday. The Fort Payne Wildcats got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to the Gadsden City Titans' three. Gadsden City were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced Fort Payne earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

Gadsden City now has a losing record of 9-10. As for Fort Payne, with the win, they broke their seven-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-13-2.

Looking ahead, Gadsden City will head out on the road to face off against Southside at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Gadsden City's defense better be ready for this one: Southside have averaged an impressive 3.2 goals per game this season. As for Fort Payne, they will host Collinsville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Collinsville will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Fort Payne surely won't give up without a fight.
