Basketball Game Preview: Cornerstone Christian Warriors vs. St. Michael's Warriors

Having just played yesterday, the Cornerstone Christian Warriors will get right back to it and host the St. Michael's Warriors at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

St. Michael's is facing Cornerstone Christian at the wrong time: Cornerstone Christian suffered their first home loss of the season on Friday and they're likely out for redemption. They fell 51-43 to the Maroons. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Warriors came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 100th, while the Maroons are ranked 246th).

Meanwhile, St. Michael's was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 33-25 hit to the loss column at the hands of Del Valle. The contest marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Cornerstone Christian's loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 22-6. As for St. Michael's, they now have a losing record at 7-8.

Everything came up roses for Cornerstone Christian against St. Michael's in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, as the team secured a 71-19 win.
