Soccer Game Preview: Blake vs. Northwood + How To Watch

The Blake Bengals will head out on the road to challenge the Northwood Gladiators at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Blake will be strutting in after a win while Northwood will be coming in after a loss.

Blake took a loss when they played away from home last Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over Watkins Mill. Blake haven't had any issues with Watkins Mill recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Northwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They came up short against Bethesda-Chevy Chase, falling 9-0. While losing is never fun, Northwood can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland soccer rankings (they are ranked 109th, while Bethesda-Chevy Chase are ranked eighth).

Northwood's loss dropped their record down to 0-8-1. As for Blake, their victory bumped their record up to 2-4.

Blake came out on top in a nail-biter against Northwood in their previous matchup back in September of 2024, sneaking past 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bengals since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
