Basketball Recap: Chino Valley Drops Season-High Score on Camp Verde

Chino Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They received a blow as they fell 60-44 to the Camp Verde Cowboys. One positive for the Cougars, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Camp Verde had a senior duo take command as Julian Perez dropped a double-double on 24 points and 12 boards and Jordan McMahon-Fullmer dropped a double-double on 22 points and 13 boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which McMahon-Fullmer has scored at least a third of Camp Verde's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tristan Clarke, who posted seven points and three steals.

Chino Valley's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Camp Verde, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Chino Valley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 75-40 defeat against Parker on the 10th. As for Camp Verde, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 68-47 loss against Blue Ridge on the 12th.
