Softball Game Preview: South Gibson Hornets vs. Collierville Dragons

The South Gibson Hornets are taking a road trip to take on the Collierville Dragons at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. South Gibson's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so Collierville's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

South Gibson fell victim to University School of Jackson and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bruins. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Hornets were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, Collierville also suffered a loss in their last game, falling to Saint James by a score of 10-5. The Dragons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

With the loss, South Gibson broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 3-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Collierville, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.
