Football Game Preview: Kenston Forest Kavaliers vs. Greenbrier Christian Academy Gators

For the second straight game, Kenston Forest will face off against Greenbrier Christian Academy. The Kavaliers will take on the Gators at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Kenston Forest is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Virginia's top teams: Greenbrier Christian Academy, who was ranked seventh at the time (Kenston Forest was ranked eighth). The matchup between the Kavaliers and the Gators didn't end well, with the Kavaliers falling 33-14. Kavaliers fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Gators since Friday.

Kenston Forest better focus on containing Tucker Basnight and Conner Isenberg as the pair were huge in Greenbrier Christian Academy's win. Basnight rushed for 155 yards and a pair of TDs, while Isenberg rushed for 89 yards and one score. Basnight's rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his 12th straight game with at least 121 rushing yards dating back to last season. Parker Noland also deserves a mention for his punt return touchdown.

Greenbrier Christian Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 253 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 165 rushing yards in 16 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Greenbrier Christian Academy's defense made their presence known, laying out Devin Dunn four times. Brady Countiss was especially locked on to Kenston Forest's QB and sacked him 2.5 times.

The win got Greenbrier Christian Academy back to even at 5-5. As for Kenston Forest, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.

Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Kenston Forest has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 214.7 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Greenbrier Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 241.3 rushing yards.
