            Football Recap: Valley Center Jaguars vs. Escondido Charter Tigers        
        
		
        
        
            Thursday just wasn't the day for Valley Center's offense. They lost to the Escondido Charter Tigers at home  by a   19-0 margin on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Jaguars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 438th, while the Tigers are ranked 77th).
 Valley Center didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of  Mykayla Degen and  Jocleyn Cortez.
 Escondido Charter's win  was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from   Riley Graff, who threw for 209 yards and two  TDs. Those  209  passing yards gave  Graff a new career-high.  Teagen Hustead did her part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 82  receiving yards.
Valley Center's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Escondido Charter, the  victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-1.
 Looking ahead, Valley Center will be playing at home against Escondido  at 5:30  p.m.  on Monday. The Cougars will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more  points each  match than the last. As for Escondido Charter, they will head out to  challenge Classical Academy  at 5:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few  points on average (the Tigers 3.2, the Caimans 12.7) so any  points scored will be well earned.
