Softball Recap: Ragsdale Continues Home Dominance on Friday

Ragsdale entered their tilt with Grimsley on Friday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Grimsley Whirlies 13-1. That's more bragging rights for the Tigers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Gracie Jet Cuthrell was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk). Cuthrell was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. She is on a roll when it comes to RBI, as she's now brought in three or more in each of the last three games she's played.

In other batting news, Claire Souther was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Alexis Gray, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Ragsdale kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 12 hits in three consecutive games.

Ragsdale pushed their record up to 7-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Grimsley, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ragsdale will host Northwest Guilford at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Grimsley, they will take on Southwest Guilford at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Grimsley has given up an average of 15.6 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
