Recap: Ross Little Giants vs. Mansfield Senior Tygers
On Saturday, Ross came up short against Mansfield Senior and fell 52-45. While losing is never fun, Ross can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 395th, while Mansfield Senior is ranked 194th).
Ross lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Michael Stover, who scored four points along with three steals. Those three steals set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Ryan Tucker, who scored six points.
Mansfield Senior's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Dondreas Reese, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Karion Lindsay, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Ross now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Mansfield Senior, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ross will challenge Napoleon at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Napoleon knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully Ross likes a good challenge. As for Mansfield Senior, they will head out on the road to face off against Eastmoor Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
