Softball Recap: Lawndale Comes Up Short

Lawndale lost against Santa Monica on Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Cardinals lost 19-2 to the Vikings. That's two games in a row now that the Cardinals have lost by exactly 17 runs.

Wendy Rosales made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Lawndale's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-9. As for Santa Monica, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Lawndale will take on rival Hawthorne at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Santa Monica is set to square off against their familiar foe Culver City at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Vikings are on a five-game streak of home wins, the Centaurs a three-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind.
