League recap: King stuns Franklin in upset

The biggest upset of the week belonged to King, who took down 248th ranked Franklin, 48-7.

Anthony Oates and Brandon Devall provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Madison Prep Academy. The connection was good for 99 yards, the longest such play in Freelance this season.

Wright's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Oates threw for 301 and three touchdowns and Devall had 124 yards receiving. On the ground Oates chipped in 216 yards. Desmond Lange helped Wright's passing attack out by catching seven balls for 67 yards.

Oates has thrown for 1166 yards and 14 touchdowns this season, while Devall has 15 catches for 445 yards. Oates also leads the league in rushing with 862 yards.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Fighting Irish take on Jefferson. As it stands, King is in sixth, while Jefferson is in second.

Alan Boyd's team was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from 11th to sixth in Freelance. Earlier in the week, the Fighting Irish triumphed over the Falcons 48-7.
