Softball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Kamry Snapp and Samantha Fuhr Lead Howe to Victory

Howe lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Pottsboro, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's game. The Bulldogs never let the Cardinals get on the board and left with a 10-0 win on Tuesday. Surprisingly, this marked the fifth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Riley McCollum made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February.

In other batting news, Howe let Samantha Fuhr and Kamry Snapp run wild. Fuhr scored two runs while going 1-for-3, while Snapp scored a run while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave Snapp a new career-high in RBI (three). Taylor Brunner was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Howe's record now sits at 6-15. As for Pottsboro, they dropped their record down to 4-15-1 with the loss, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Howe will face off against S & S Consolidated at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Rams will roll in looking for their 18th straight victory, something the Bulldogs surely won't give up without a fight. As for Pottsboro, they will take on Leonard at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cardinals are facing the Tigers at the right time seeing as the Tigers are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
