Izard County waltzed into their game on Friday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They enjoyed a cozy 62-46 victory over the Cedar Ridge Timberwolves. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 36th, while the Timberwolves are ranked 155th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Izard County has also been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.5 points per game. As for Cedar Ridge, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-12.

Coincidentally, Izard County and Cedar Ridge will both be playing Mammoth Spring the next time they take the court. Cedar Ridge will head out to face Mammoth Spring at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, while Izard County will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
