Kennett has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.13 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Wednesday. They took an 11-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Neelyville Tigers. The Indians' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Handley McAtee made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with three doubles, two runs, and one RBI.

Kennett's loss dropped their record down to 20-4. As for Neelyville, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-1.

Kennett and Neelyville should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings. The Indians will face off against Oran at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (7 vs. 69). Meanwhile, Neelyville (ranked 11th) will meet Greenville (ranked 83rd) at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
