Basketball Recap: Patton Panthers vs. Lincolnton Wolves
Patton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Lincolnton Wolves, falling 56-32. The Panthers were down 42-19 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Leading Lincolnton to victory were Curmiya Tillman and Sarah Rhyne. Tillman posted 16 points and six rebounds, while Rhyne earned eight points and 14 boards. That's the most rebounds Rhyne has posted since back in November of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Nyla Johnson, who had eight points.
Patton's loss dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Lincolnton, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Patton will welcome East Rutherford at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Lincolnton, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Newton-Conover at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Lincolnton knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Newton-Conover likes a good challenge.
