Softball Recap: Plymouth Christian Academy Wins Going Away Against Lutheran

Plymouth Christian Academy was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Lutheran on Thursday. The Eagles blew past the Warriors 14-2. Considering the Eagles have won 12 matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Sophie Paryaski and Clara Groen made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Paryaski pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Meanwhile, Groen kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Paryaski has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 17 consecutive appearances. At bat, Paryaski went 2-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one double, while Groen went 2-for-5 with two runs and two RBI.

In other batting news, Chloe Paryaski was incredible, going 4-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Olivia Botosan, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Plymouth Christian Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive games.

Plymouth Christian Academy's record is now 16-7. As for Lutheran, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Plymouth Christian Academy will take on Boyne City at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lutheran, they will challenge Berkley at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
