Baseball Recap: Bishop Machebeuf Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Bishop Machebeuf entered their tilt with Denver Academy on Tuesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They were the clear victors by a 15-6 margin over the Mustangs. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Buffaloes also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

Jack Menke and John Menke were a major factor while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Menke pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Meanwhile, John pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. At bat, Menke scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances, while John scored two runs while going 2-for-4. John is becoming a predictor of Bishop Machebeuf's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 1-3 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Landon Sulser, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Menke, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Bishop Machebeuf was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .424. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Bishop Machebeuf pushed their record up to 5-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Denver Academy, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.
