Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Clark). They came out on top against the Pioneer Diamondbacks by a score of 10-5 on Thursday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Cougars considering their two-run performance the match before.

Jake Ramirez was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed six innings while giving up five earned runs off six hits. Ramirez was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Clark let Angel Tamayo and Tristan Hidalgo run wild. Tamayo scored two runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Hidalgo scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Jerry Brightwell, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Clark was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The win made it two in a row for Clark and bumps their season record up to 4-5. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Pioneer, they now also have a losing record of 4-5.

Looking ahead, Clark will face off against Episcopal at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Pioneer, they will challenge Cinco Ranch at 9:30 a.m. on Friday.
