Basketball Recap: Lima Christian Gets the Win

If Eugenio Maria de Hostos Charter wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Lima Christian, they should've done a better job of containing Alyssa Marsh. The Lima Christian Saints put the hurt on the Eugenio Maria de Hostos Charter Hornets with a sharp 49-25 win on Friday thanks in part to Marsh, who posted 22 points and five steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Lima Christian's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Sophy Britton, who had six points and seven assists. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in assists.

Lima Christian's victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Eugenio Maria de Hostos Charter, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

When Lima Christian and Eugenio Maria de Hostos Charter next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Lima Christian will try to stop Honeoye's four-game winning streak when the meet at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Eugenio Maria de Hostos Charter will try to stop Young Women's College Prep's four-game winning streak when the meet on January 23rd.
