The Academy dropped their record down to 4-7 on Thursday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They lost 8-1 to the Peak to Peak Pumas. The Wildcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Pumas earlier this season, when they won 5-3.

The Academy saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brennan Staudinger, who went 1-for-3 with one triple. That triple marked the first that Staudinger has hit this season.

As for Peak to Peak, they now have a winning record of 5-4. Considering they have won three games by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

On Peak to Peak's side, Cooper Campbell made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Campbell has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Dane Hirt, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Peak to Peak's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is undefeated (and 2-4 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Owen Branscum, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

The Academy has already played their next contest, an 8-7 win against Kent Denver on the 12th. As for Peak to Peak, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 10-9 loss against Colorado Academy on the 12th.
