Flag Football Recap: Cook Takes a Loss

Cook fell victim to Fitzgerald and their airtight defense on Thursday. They took a hard 19-0 fall against the Purple Hurricane. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia flag football rankings (they are ranked 81st, while the Purple Hurricane are ranked eighth).

Cook has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's defensive effort, having only surrendered 11.0 points on average over those games. As for Fitzgerald, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Cook will venture away from home to challenge Colquitt County at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fitzgerald, they will face off against Treutlen at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
