Baseball Recap: Riverhead Extends Winning Streak to Four

Riverhead proved they can win big last Wednesday (they won by seven) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Westhampton Beach Hurricanes, sneaking past 4-3. While the Blue Waves didn't have the best season last year (they finished 3-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

The victory (which was Riverhead's fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-2. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Westhampton Beach, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

Riverhead will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Hurricanes: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
