Coal City posted their closest victory since September 5th on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Crete-Monee Warriors. The Coalers haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Darcie Ladas paced Coal City's offense, picking up five kills. Ladas got some help from Sydney Larson and her 18 assists. Keirsten Gabehart controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Coal City now has a winning record of 11-10-1. As for Crete-Monee, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-7 record this season.
