Basketball Recap: Eustace Find Success

If Miller Grove wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Eustace, they should've done a better job of containing Mason Russel. The Bulldogs put the hurt on the Hornets with a sharp 40-15 victory on Thursday with plenty of help from Russel, who went 5-for-9 to rack up 11 points and three steals. Those steals were his first of the season.

Another player making a difference was Zach Durnell, who posted eight points and eight rebounds. He is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last three games he's played.

Eustace's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-6. As for Miller Grove, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10.

Coincidentally, Eustace and Miller Grove will both be playing Fannindel the next time they take the court. The Bulldogs will head out to face the Falcons at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Hornets will play them later in the day, at 4:00 p.m.
