Basketball Game Preview: Furtah Prep Falcons vs. Atlanta Jewish Academy Jaguar

The Furtah Prep Falcons are taking a road trip to take on the Atlanta Jewish Academy Jaguar at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

It was a Battle of the Birds when Furtah Prep challenged Heritage on Tuesday. Furtah Prep took a hard 62-46 fall against Heritage. The Falcons haven't had much luck with the Hawks recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.

Meanwhile, Atlanta Jewish Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against Rock Springs Christian Academy, falling 80-56.

Furtah Prep will have to contain Zac Agichtein as he made an impact in Atlanta Jewish Academy's last game. He dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 boards. Agichtein has been hot for a while, having posted 16 or more points the last 18 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Shai Kaiserblueth, who posted 12 points.

Furtah Prep's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 9-1 and their overall record down to 19-5. As for Atlanta Jewish Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 9-15.

Everything came up roses for Furtah Prep against Atlanta Jewish Academy in their previous matchup back in January, as the team secured a 78-26 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Furtah Prep since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
