Baseball Game Preview: Lincolnwood Lancers vs. Okaw Valley Timberwolves

The Lincolnwood Lancers are taking a road trip to face off against the Okaw Valley Timberwolves at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Lincolnwood is coming into the game hot, having won their last eight games.

On Thursday, Lincolnwood made easy work of Tri-City and carried off a 10-3 win. The Lancers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by six runs or more this season.

Okaw Valley came out on top against Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland] on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive nine-run first inning. The Timberwolves blew past the Titans 12-2. The victory continues a trend for the Timberwolves in their matchups with the Titans: they've now won seven in a row.

Lincolnwood pushed their record up to 14-5 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Okaw Valley, they picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 5-13.

Lincolnwood might still be hurting after the 12-3 loss they got from Okaw Valley in their previous meeting back in April of 2022. Can the Lancers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
