Baseball Game Preview: Lansingburgh Knights vs. Albany Academy for Boys Cadets

Lansingburgh hasn't had much luck against Albany Academy for Boys recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Knights are taking a road trip to take on the Cadets at 4:30 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Lansingburgh came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 7-1 to Cohoes.

Lansingburgh got a good showing from Ethan Luby, who tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the first time Luby hasn't allowed a single earned run since April 4th.

At the plate, Lansingburgh saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dan Pondillo, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Albany Academy for Boys was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against La Salle Institute, falling 8-0.

Lansingburgh's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Albany Academy for Boys, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Lansingburgh might still be hurting after the 9-0 loss they got from Albany Academy for Boys in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Knights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
