Soccer Recap: Saint Gertrude Falls Short of Catholic in the Playoffs

Saint Gertrude and Catholic squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Saint Gertrude had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Crusaders by a score of 2-1. That's two games in a row now that Saint Gertrude have lost by just one goal.

Saint Gertrude dropped their record down to 8-5-4 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Catholic, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4-1 record this season.

Saint Gertrude does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Catholic, they will take on The Covenant at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Catholic's defense better be ready for this one: The Covenant have averaged an impressive 3.9 goals per game this season.
