Clairemont dropped their record down to 22-7 on Friday, which also ended the team's nine-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the University City Centurions by a score of 5-3. The Chieftains were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Centurions earlier this season, when they won 7-6.

Clairemont saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Connor Trevino, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

As for University City, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-12. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted against Clairemont since May 7, 2018.

On University City's side, AJ Curry spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up 11 Ks.

At the plate, University City got a massive performance out of Josh Kaplan, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most runs Kaplan has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Jade Barth, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

As of now, neither Clairemont nor University City have any future games scheduled.
