Softball Recap: Honaker Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Honaker, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They skirted past the Chilhowie Warriors 6-4. This was a revenge game for the Tigers: when they faced off against the Warriors back in April, they had to take a 4-1 defeat.

Alyssa Wilson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on four hits and racked up nine Ks.

On the hitting side, Jailey Gross was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and five RBI. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Aliyah Hilton was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three doubles and two runs.

Honaker's win bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Chilhowie, their loss dropped their record down to 15-3.

Honaker didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 5-4 victory against Northwood on the 16th. As for Chilhowie, they have also already played their next match, a 6-3 win against Holston on the 17th.
