Basketball Recap: Christopher Comes Up Short

Christopher was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 57-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hamilton County Foxes. The Bearcats were probably out for revenge after losing 37-31 to them when the teams met back in December of 2016, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Rayci Phelps was her usual excellent self, going 6 of 14 on her way to 24 points in addition to six boards and four steals for Hamilton County. That makes it five consecutive games in which Phelps has scored at least a third of Hamilton County's points. Brylee Varner was another key player, putting up nine points.

Christopher's loss dropped their record down to 13-17. As for Hamilton County, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-10.

Christopher has already played their next game (against Marissa/Coulterville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Hamilton County won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Fairfield at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hamilton County is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53 points per game this season.
