Softball Recap: Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia Snaps Nine-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia dropped their record down to 21-6 on Friday, which also ended the team's nine-game streak of wins at home. They fell just short of the Pittsfield Saukees by a score of 9-8. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Trojans of the 4-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Lucie Dion made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run was her first of the season. Addison Rohn was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

As for Pittsfield, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 19-7-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games.

On Pittsfield's side, the team relied heavily on Lila Simon, who went 3-for-5 with two runs, two doubles, and one triple. That's the most hits Simon has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Josie McClintock, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.

Looking ahead, Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia will square off against Calhoun at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Pittsfield, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 9-8 victory against Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg on the 9th.
