Columbus won against Ferguson last Wednesday with ten runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Columbus Explorers didn't even let the Gulliver Prep Raiders on the board, marking the Columbus Explorers' second-straight 10-0 shutout. Winning may never get old, but the Explorers sure are getting used to it with their eighth in a row.

Michael Say tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Columbus let Maximus Alvarez and Alec Cruz run wild. Alvarez scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2, while Cruz scored two runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. The dominant performance gave Alvarez a new career-high in runs. Another player making a difference was Matthew Fernandez, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Columbus pushed their record up to 9-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games. As for Gulliver Prep, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Columbus wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 4-2 loss against JC Bermudez Doral on the 10th. As for Gulliver Prep, they have also already played their next contest, an 8-2 defeat against Coral Gables on the 7th.
