Football Recap: Seabreeze Takes a Loss

Seabreeze dropped to 4-4 on Friday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They had to suffer through a 41-14 loss at the hands of the Viera Hawks. The Sandcrabs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-7.

Although Seabreeze took the loss, they still got scores from Owen Orourke and Logan Smith.

As for Viera, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their ten-point performance the matchup before.

Viera's receiving core played a big role in the win, headlined by Eric Nelson and Jonah Woodruff. Nelson threw for 222 yards while completing 86.7% of his passes while Woodruff picked up 107 receiving yards. Those 107 receiving yards gave Woodruff a new career-high.

Coming up, Seabreeze will venture away from home to square off against Pine Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Sandcrabs will be up against the Panthers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 30.78 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Viera, they will host Melbourne at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Hawks' defense better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 42.5 points per game this season.
