While Arcadia's win against Muir wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Apaches narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Mustangs 5-4. The Apaches have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Mustangs on Thursday, too.

Samantha Almaraz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on four hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Alyssa Cordeiro was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

The win made it two in a row for Arcadia and bumps their season record up to 10-7-1. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.5 runs across that stretch. As for Muir, their loss dropped their record down to 13-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Arcadia will host Glendora at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The last four games the Tartans have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Muir, they will welcome Burbank at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
