Basketball Recap: Helix's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Helix waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They enjoyed a cozy 57-40 victory over the Mount Miguel Matadors. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 58-47 last Tuesday.

Braylon Cardwell and Trae'Jon Williams certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Cardwell posted 11 points, while Williams had nine points. Williams is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last three games he's played.

Helix's win bumped their record up to 9-16. As for Mount Miguel, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-12.

Helix wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 63-60 victory against Scripps Ranch on the 8th. As for Mount Miguel, they will square off against Southwest SD at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Mount Miguel is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56 points per game this season.
