Baseball Recap: Evergreen Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Sultan, Evergreen was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Cleveland Eagles 4-2. This was payback for the Wolverines, who suffered a 14-3 loss the last time these two teams met.

Raiden Hang made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off eight hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one walk in nine consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one double. Evergreen is undefeated when Hang posts two or more runs, but 4-8 otherwise.

In other batting news, Tycean Martin was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Evergreen hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cleveland struck out nine times.

Evergreen's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 11-8. As for Cleveland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-14.

As of now, neither Evergreen nor the Eagles have any future games scheduled.
