Baseball Recap: Wyoming East Extends Winning Streak to Four

Wyoming East came tearing into Thursday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Liberty Raiders get on the board and left with a 6-0 win. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 games by six runs or more this season.

The result came thanks to Jaeden Lester's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up 14 Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Wyoming East got a big performance out of Braxton Morgan, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. Those two doubles gave Morgan a new career-high. Jarrod Phillips was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Wyoming East's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-6. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Liberty, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-9.
