Volleyball Game Preview: Ridgeline Riverhawks vs. Mountain Crest Mustangs

Ridgeline is a perfect 3-0 against Mountain Crest since March of 2024 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Riverhawks will be playing at home against the Mustangs at 6:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Ridgeline has four straight wins, Mountain Crest has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Ridgeline had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Bear River on Tuesday. The Riverhawks put the hurt on the Bears with a sharp 3-0 victory.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-16, 25-10.

Jentzen Budge was the offensive standout of the match as he had nine digs and two aces.

Budge wasn't the only good server: Ridgeline was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in six consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Mountain Crest lost 3-0 to Sky View on Tuesday.

The final score came out to 25-21, 25-18, 25-14.

Ridgeline pushed their record up to 13-8 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road. As for Mountain Crest, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-16.

Ridgeline took their victory against Mountain Crest in their previous meeting back in March by a conclusive 3-0 score. Do the Riverhawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mustangs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
