Baseball Recap: Aiken Comes Up Short

Aiken lost against Gilbert back in April of 2019, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Aiken Fighting Green Hornets took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Gilbert Indians. The Fighting Green Hornets' loss continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

Aiken got a good showing from Jones Wilhite, who didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched.

Aiken's record is now 3-5. As for Gilbert, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-1.

While Aiken had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
