Basketball Recap: Marquette Catholic Takes a Loss

Marquette Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 42-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Calhoun/Brussels Warriors. While losing is never fun, the Explorers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 278th, while the Warriors are ranked 58th).

Marquette Catholic now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Calhoun/Brussels, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 17-4.

Marquette Catholic didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 45-41 victory against Jersey on the 21st. Calhoun/Brussels has also already played their next contest, a 58-19 win against Greenfield/Northwestern on the 23rd.
