Softball Recap: Wonewoc-Center Wins Going Away Against Royall

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Riverdale, Wonewoc-Center was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over the Royall Panthers. This was a revenge game for the Wolves: when they faced off against the Panthers back in April, they had to take a 7-0 defeat.

Brooklynn Bolton made a splash no matter where she played. She tossed seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Bolton was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Wonewoc-Center got a massive performance out of Beyn Burns, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That double marked the first that Burns has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Callissa Keller, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Wonewoc-Center's victory bumped their record up to 5-12. As for Royall, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season.
