Football Game Preview: Sonora Raiders vs. Irvine Vaqueros + How To Watch

The Sonora Raiders will head out on the road to face off against the Irvine Vaqueros at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Things were looking good for Sonora after they put the first points on the board on Friday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell 14-10 to Canyon. Having soared to a lofty 36 points in the game before, the Raiders couldn't push the score so high this time.

Despite a strong season so far, Irvine has seen their luck take a bit of a downturn recently. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 21-20 heartbreaker at the hands of Troy. While losing is never fun, the Vaqueros can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 264th, while the Warriors are ranked 117th).

The loss was their first at home , dropping their record down to 6-3. As for Sonora, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.

Sonora was able to grind out a solid victory over Irvine when the teams last played back in October of 2024, winning 28-20. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Raiders since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
