Basketball Game Preview: Borden Braves vs. Salem Lions

The Borden Braves will face off against the Salem Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Borden has four straight victories, Salem has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Monday, Borden really took it to Crawford County for the full four quarters, racking up a 61-31 win. With the Braves ahead 34-13 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Salem and Crawford County meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Tuesday. Salem fell just short of Crawford County by a score of 64-61. Even if the Lions couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their offense, which had struggled int the games prior.

Salem's loss dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Borden, their win bumped their record up to 14-7.

Borden strolled past Salem in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 by a score of 51-33. Will Borden repeat their success, or does Salem have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
