Basketball Game Preview: Bishop Rosecrans Bishops vs. Catholic Central Crusaders

The Bishop Rosecrans Bishops will head out to face off against the Catholic Central Crusaders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bishop Rosecrans knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Catholic Central likes a good challenge.

Bishop Rosecrans is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Wellington School: they outscored them in every quarter. The Bishops were the clear victors by a 58-33 margin over the Jaguars on Friday. The Bishops pushed the score to 43-22 by the end of the third, a deficit the Jaguars had little chance of recovering from.

Bishop Rosecrans relied on the efforts of Owen Lambert, who shot 82% from the field on his way to 20 points and five boards, and Tyler Bernett, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 15 rebounds. With that strong performance, Bernett is now averaging an impressive 2.2 blocks per game. Kohen Harris was another key player, putting up four points and four steals.

Bishop Rosecrans smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in four consecutive games.

Meanwhile, after only 24 points in their last contest, Catholic Central made sure to put some points up on the board against Madonna on Tuesday. The Crusaders came out on top against the Blue Dons by a score of 57-50. The victory continues a trend for the Crusaders in their matchups with the Blue Dons: they've now won five in a row.

Bishop Rosecrans' record is now 8-4. As for Catholic Central, their record now sits at 6-9.

Bishop Rosecrans lost to Catholic Central on the road by a decisive 56-37 margin in their previous meeting back in March of 2025. Can the Bishops avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
